The RAUGEO deep probe is REHAU’s latest innovative ground-source technology, designed to offer a highly efficient and space saving method of extracting ground-source energy at greater depths. Standard probes can only typically be installed in depths of around 250m (due to the higher ground pressures involved) but the steel reinforced RAUGEO deep probes can be installed in depths of up to 800m. At these depths, ground temperatures can reach up to 34C (compared to 12-13C at 100m); this has the effect of increasing the Coefficient of Performance (COP) of the ground-source heat pump.

Features

Steel reinforced Pe-Xa probe (cross-linked polyethylene)

  • Available in 40, 50 or 63mm pipe diameter
  • Can be installed in depths up to 800m
  • resistant up to 120 bar
  • Steel probe tip/weight
  • Coaxial version available

Benefits

Ideal for urban projects with limited space available
Higher ground temperatures (up to 34C) at these depths means increased efficiency of GSHP system
Increased COP of heat pump means lower operating costs of heat pump
In some cases, temperatures may be high enough to eliminate need for a heat pump
