Normally the simplest and most economical means of treating wastewater from small developments, a septic tank is a two or three chamber system which holds sewage to allow solids to settle into sludge at the bottom of the tank. Here it is naturally broken down, by a process known as anaerobic digestion, which provides settlement and some biological treatment but the effluent is not fully treated and must receive additional treatment before discharge to the water environment – the most common method being to spread the effluent to land via an underground drainage pipe.

The Marsh traditional ‘onion’ style septic tanks are suitable in areas where you can form a percolation or drainage bed as the treated effluent is not to a standard that can be discharged straight into the water course, it requires further treatment through the soil.

Marsh Industries only use 100% virgin resin (no chalk fillers) in all our products. Lead times for septic tanks are normally only 5-7 working days.

  • Tested to BSEN12566:1 and CE-marked to ensure compliance with latest environmental and Building Regulations requirements

  • Low profile versions for high water table or hard rock site conditions

Marsh septic tanks are either “traditional Onion shape septic” or the low profile cylindrical tanks that are designed for high water table or hard rock conditions. Marsh Septic Tanks can normally be installed in pea-shingle, they are tested and certified to EN12566-1, but for discharge into a land drainage system not ditch or watercourse. The septic tanks come complete with cover and frame. The septic tank is fitted with two Lloyds registered lifting eyes or slinging points. Delivery is normally four days from order placement. Installation in normal ground conditions is a pea shingle surround but concrete must be used for high water table areas. No power is needed for this tank. This septic tank is certified for installation throughout the EU. Manufactured in virgin resin (no chalk filler) and glass. If the property you are fitting this too is a new dwelling it would be advisable to check that Building Control will accept a septic tank in preference to an Ensign sewage treatment plant.

All Marsh’s products are extremely competitively priced and are tested to the highest European standards. Marsh offer the option of Polylok Filters pre-fitted in the out let TEE piece of the septic tank, they are very easy to maintain, and prevent smell and the blocking of the soakaway. Marsh hold EN12566 certification for Domestic Sewage Plants, Uni:Gem and three complete individual ranges of septic tanks.
